New MBR retrofit in SBR basins leaves more volume available for EQ and WAS and achieves water quality requirements for NYC Watershed.
DESCRIPTION
Andes is another Ovivo MBR installation in NYC watershed. It is a SBR retrofit which makes the operations at the facility much simpler. The original flow schematic included a SBR followed by sand filters and microfiltration. The SBR and microfiltration membranes were falling apart and they needed an upgrade that could meet the stringent water quality requirements for watershed discharge. Ovivo MBR system replaced SBR, Sand filters and microfiltration membranes. There are two SBR trains, one train is converted to EQ, anoxic and MBR basin and the other SBR train is converted to a Calamity tank and Sludge holding tank. Plant
