Pump assisted gravity (PAG) filtration is used to reduce energy consumption more than 10%.
DESCRIPTION
The Bob’s Creek MBR is located in West Winfield, MO and is owned by the Lincoln County PWSD #1. The plant was built to replace the existing lagoon system. The plant is permitted to treat a design wastewater stream of 0.75 MGD. Filtration is driven by a pump‐assisted gravity (PAG) to cut energy by demand by 10% or more. During normal operating condition, gravity pushes water through the submerged membranes. However, during cold weather and peak flow events, pumps automatically turn on to sustain higher fluxes (filtration rate per area or membrane). Waste solids are thickened to 3% solids with the PAD‐K® technology utilizing the same membrane equipment installed in the bioreactors.
