PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS

Commissioned February, 2008 Industrial WW, Greenfield Permit(s); Discharge 10/NA/NA   (TN/TP/Turbidity) Dairy ⇒ Sewer MMF Capacity: 0.018 MGD $36.0/gal 0.5 FTE (Full‐Time Employees)
The plant generally is in use for a couple of shifts during weekdays and very little on weekends and can handle variation in flow load.

DESCRIPTION

Great Lakes Cheese (GLC) is a cheese making company located in Hiram, OH. GLC was acquainted with Guggisberg Cheese, which was Ovivo’s first industrial MBR in Ohio, and were in favor of MBR because of its ability to treat the higher BOD and fit in the small area available between the paved drive and the storm ditch. Ovivo teamed with Foresight Engineering and Envirotect to build the MBR system, which was operational within 8 months. The MBR effluent is BOD<5ppm, TSS<5 ppm, and NH3‐N <1 ppm. The plant is also considering bringing the sanitary flow to the MBR system, which is currently sent to the sewer system.
