Ovivo designed the facility to minimize visibility at the site, and Enviroquip® MBR was chosen to cover strict discharge requirements.
DESCRIPTION
In response to increasingly strict NPDES discharge requirements, Guggisberg Cheese, one of the largest US producers of Swiss cheese upgraded its wastewater treatment facility with Enviroquip MBR technology. Membrane bioreactor technology allowed Guggisberg Cheese to comply with the strict discharge requirements and to construct the new wastewater treatment facility in such a fashion as to minimize visibility at the site. Located within the heart of Ohio Amish country, reducing the impact of the cheese production plant and its wastewater treatment operations on the surrounding environment was a key concern.
