Water quality and quantity have important cultural and economic significance for the Nez Perce Tribe.
DESCRIPTION
The Nez Perce Tribe and the City of Lapwai (in conjunction with Progressive Engineering) evaluated the existing collection and treatment facilities and decided that the most cost effective and environmentally sound plan was to construct a new regional treatment facility utilizing membrane biological reactor (MBR) technology. The Tribe's decision was made easy by the fact that Ovivo had ten certified representatives living in the same region (three of which are licensed operators) and that the integrator lives just a few hours away from the plant. The Lapwai WWTP was designed to be simple and operator friendly.
