Waste solids are handled through aerobic digestion followed by a belt press.
DESCRIPTION
The Moroni Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) provides treatment to the City of Moroni and the Moroni Feed Company (a turkey processing facility). This combination of residential and industrial waste proved to be difficult to treat with the existing treatment system and caused discharge permit excursions. Ovivo MBR technology was selected to bring the plant back into compliance. The existing headworks facility was upgraded with new fine screens to improve the screenings operation. The existing dissolved air flotation unit, which was offline, was converted into a primary clarifier to assist in removing solids from the waste stream.
