District officials say the technology reliably produces high‐quality treated water and protects Canaan Valley's water resources.
DESCRIPTION
Two wastewater treatment plants have replaced five aging systems in Tucker County, West Virginia. Timberline is one of the two MBR Plants. The treatment system combines microorganisms that digest wastewater solids with a membrane filter. Wastewater discharges previously have been blamed in part for contributing to low dissolved oxygen levels on the Blackwater River. For more information on the second Enviroquip MBR in Canaan Valley, please see the Timberline WWTP case study.
