The MBR's design allowed the Sandia plant to operate with no down time throughout the construction phase of the retrofit.
DESCRIPTION
The owner of the Sandia Puebla WWTP faced a challenge in 2007 with aerobic digestion equipment that was non-functioning since 2000. They decided on an Ovivo MBR to retrofit their existing SBR plant because it would maximize the capabilities of the existing tankage. With an operating MLSS of 11,500mg/L, the MBR would increase flow capability from 0.8MGD to 1.6MGD in the same footprint. With this new capacity the tribe would be able to expand their business operations to include new residential, retail and RV facilities.
