There isn't enough city water available to meet all the Casino's requirements. The MBR provides high quality effluent for several needs like toilet flushing and landscaping.”
DESCRIPTION
Limited supply of potable water and a maximum one‐acre footprint were the two key drivers for selection of an Ovivo MBR for the Red Hawk Casino. The MBR effluent would be used for irrigation, toilets, and fire protection. Meanwhile, the membrane bioreactor process was designed with a MLSS of 10,000mg/L, allowing the plant footprint to remain small. With an average flow of 0.35MGD and a peak of 0.70MGD, the plant has been operating since October 2008. During seasonal high occupancy periods, it even processes influent with BOD peaks of 700‐1000 mg/L maintaining high quality effluent suitable for reuse.
