This upgrade resulted in energy bills dropping by 45%.
DESCRIPTION
This plant was originally selected to replace an aging conventional activated sludge facility in central Ohio. In order to reduce engineering and construction time, a 125,000 gpd MPAC modular MBR with concrete tanks was selected. Beyond the small footprint and consistently good effluent quality, the MBR was selected for its ease of operation and limited operator input. Because the plant has typically seen less than half of its design flow, it was upgraded in 2011 to an Energy Pro configuration, which allows one or both MBRs to operate as required to handle a given influent flow. This upgrade resulted in energy bills dropping by 45%.
