To keep up with the anticipated growth in the area, the city of Liberty was in need to replace the existing SBR process. Another of the main drivers for upgrading the existing activated sludge plant was due to the phosphorus limit of less than 0.15 mg/L. Ovivo MBR technology was selected due to its ability to produce high effluent quality, its scalability, small footprint and ease of operation. The MBR process high effluent quality offered the City a significant reduction in chemical consumption for phosphorus removal.
In addition, the proposed plant offers the flexibility to easily expand from a current design MMF flow of 0.8 MGD to a future MMF of 4 MGD within a tight footprint. The plant will also have installed Ovivo’s software technology WaterExpert, which will allow the customer the ability to track the plant’s assets, retain key employee knowledge, and manage maintenance schedules and access expert support all from the convenience of the cloud.
