City of Palm Coast existing Wastewater Treatment Plant 1, was built in the early 1970s and has been gradually expanded over the years, but has nearly reached its capacity. The City of Palm Coast, was in need to incorporate a new facility toaccommodate the city’s anticipated growth. Ovivo Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) technology was selected due to its advanced technology, its small footprint and reliability of meeting tighter limits producing an
effluent quality that nearly meets drinking water quality standards. The primary method of disposal of this highly treated efuent will be for irrigation and groundwater recharge with the wet weather backup being a discharge to a wetland where the efuent can further enhance the environment.
